KAISO

Kaiso is a coffee shop branded to fit the Caribbean culture of Belize. The mascot is an afro-Caribbean woman seen wearing a traditional headdress. This branding project included the designs of three different types of coffee bags, and a menu. The second part of this project includes a look book to entice potential investors into endorsing and supporting the brand.

01. Brand Identity

When it came to deciding on what would be an appropriate mascot and name for the coffee shop, I took a look at the culture and the people.

The people, the culture, colors, all of it influenced me in my decision making process. When you think of the Caribbean, you also think of the beautiful Afro-Caribbean women who live there. Furthermore, I took a look at cultural practices and music styles. Upon finding the music genre of Calypso, I delved further and found a genre called “Kaiso”. Taking interest and inspiration from their music style, KAISO was born.

02. Coffee Packaging and Menu

Pulling further from the beautiful culture of Belize, I began to look into textures that spoke to the feel of the country. After conducting this research I began to draft designs for the packaging and the menu. The following was my final solution.

03. Look Book

As a companion piece to the coffee packaging and menu for this project, we were tasked with creating a look book for a scenario where potential investors would look through it and decide whether they would like to invest in your company or not. This is a look at the design below following the same inspirations and textures.
